What We Forget to be Thankful For
And the 7 proven benefits of gratitude
There’s always something to be thankful for, whether life is a breeze or whether it’s blustering. By reminding ourselves each day of at least one thing we have to be thankful for, we empower ourselves with positivity and we open the door for even more blessings. Through giving thanks, we build a positive perspective that is the foundation for any measure of success.
A Simple Exercise of Revelation
Sure, it’s easy to talk about being positive and practicing gratitude when everything is going smoothly, but it’s another thing entirely when you’re feeling overwhelmed, alone, or burned out. That’s the most important time, however, to remember our blessings, because it can change our outlook and help pull us up out of the darkness.
Let me illustrate what I mean. Imagine that you’re told to stand in a dark room. There’s no light coming in from anywhere and blackness surrounds you. You feel trapped, insecure, uneasy, and maybe even a bit panicked, but then you’re told that the light of a single candle will brighten the room each time you give thanks for something.
How quickly can you brighten that dark room?
