Your perspective is similar to so many these days, however I agree with Steve. The simple fact that we don't know if something exists doesn't negate the possibility. After all, dark matter has existed for millions of years, yet we only discovered it recently. Simple because we didn't know it was there didn't make it impossible, and that is the entire point of my article.
